Folk art 'Dymkovo toy'

 Dymkovo fishing - a unique phenomenon of Russian folk art, which came to us from the depths of centuries. It is believed that it arose in the XV-XVI centuries in the settlement of Dymkovo on the low right bank of the Vyatka River near the town of Khlynova-Vyatka. It was there that the tradition of making a clay toy along the female line, from mother to daughter, developed and developed. Gradually the dynasties of the craftsmen of the Dymkovo toy were formed, each of which had its own peculiarities in form, proportions, color and ornaments. The traditional process of manufacturing the Dymkovo toy has been preserved, including modeling of red clay, drying, roasting, whitewashing, painting with tempera colors and decoration with gold leaf. Each toy as before, and now absorbs not only the hand of the author, but his inner world, emotional mood.
