The time for haymaking in Russia began at the end of June. Uniting several families, and sometimes a whole village, the peasants in a friendly crowd left for the field, where they stayed during the entire haymaking, which lasted 20 days. The peasants made huts of thin wood, but they only hid in them from the rain. They slept under canvas canopies that were hung on poles in various places. Next to the hut, a cauldron was hung on trestles, in which food was prepared, consisting of traditional Russian dishes. At haymaking and other collective work, everyone's quick wit and dexterity, strength and virtuosity in individual techniques were manifested. And it was here that the young men chose their future bride, looking at how the girls worked. But collective work was not the only criterion for evaluation. Everyone could see the clothes of a girl of her own making, sometimes decorated with intricate needlework. And here in the meadow, after dinner, the girls began to dance and sing, and the guys played accordions and balalaikas. Sometimes young people went to the forest for berries and mushrooms. When going to haymaking, the peasants put on their best festive clothing in bright colors. After all, the residents were looking forward to this time with impatience, especially young people. The girls had red shirts: haymaking was an opportunity for them to show off in front of the guys, and for the latter - to choose their future bride. The dolls presented in the assortment recreate these images of Russian peasants in miniature. The dolls' costumes are also made of natural fabrics - chintz and linen, and are distinguished by bright, festive colors. Doll height 28cm The doll is made of natural materials by hand
