Izhevsk Mechanical Plant was founded July 20, 1942 for the production of military small arms. The first manufactured products were anti-tank guns of famous Soviet gunsmiths V.A. Degtyarev and S.G. Simonov, automatic pistol by F.V. Tokarev TT.

During the war years, about 200 thousand anti-tank guns, about a million pistols and revolvers, 180 thousand lighting pistols and many other types of military equipment were produced. (data from the museum of the enterprise).

Since October 1944, new workshops have been built at the plant, producing products for the restoration of the national economy.

In 1949, production of sports and hunting weapons was created. Started manufacturing the world famous Makarov pistol.

In 1951, for the first time in the country, large-scale production of precision steel casting for the manufacture of blanks for many sectors of the national economy was created. At the same time, the production of serial production of mining equipment is being created: pneumopunchers, pneumatic tamping machines and pneumatic pistols.

Today, Izhevsk Mechanical Plant is one of Russia's largest diversified enterprises with modern technologies, producing special equipment, civilian and service weapons, medical equipment and microelectronics, precision steel castings and some consumer goods.

The products of Izhevsk Mechanical Plant meet the requirements of international standards of quality and reliability.

The company's management considers product quality as a decisive factor for integration into the world economy and the most important condition for raising the standard of living of society and the collective.
