The legendary, brilliant, magnificent Dixit Dixit (Dixit) was born in 2008 with the light hand of the French child psychologist Jean-Louis Rubier. The idea of mechanics was complemented by the genius of illustration Marie Cardua, who developed 84 original cards with unusual drawings. The game was a tremendous success, almost instantly it spread to different countries, where it was gladly accepted by local publishers. From 2009 to 2011, she received 15 major awards in the world of board games, among which - in 2010 - the most prestigious German award "Game of the Year". The game became the founder of a new interesting mechanics, and all the rules and conditions for victory in it depend solely on the intuition, flair and other emotions of the players. At the beginning, all players receive 6 cards with illustrations that cannot be shown to each other. A narrator is appointed (later each player will become one in turn), who looks at his cards, chooses one of them and tells everyone about those emotions, associations, memories or hopes, fears, dreams, and anything - what this map. Next, the storyteller puts this card face down on the table, all other players look at their cards, choose the one that best suits the association they heard, and put it on the storyteller's card. The laid out cards are shuffled and laid out on the table face up. Now the task of other players is to try to guess which of the pictures belongs to the narrator - they do this by voting, laying out their tokens with numbers. The storyteller simultaneously reveals tokens, and one of several options is possible here: 1. All players guessed the storyteller's card. 2. None of the players guessed. 3. Some of the players chose a storyteller card, some - other cards. It’s easy to guess that the storyteller needs a third option, in which he managed to confuse the audience to the right extent - in this case, he receives victory points. If the 1st or 2nd option occurs, the other players receive victory points. The player (not the storyteller) whose card was chosen by the other players also receives victory points for being able to so accurately fall into the named association. There are often situations when the majority, or even all of the players vote for a different, non-storyteller card. Who will be interested in Dixit? The rules are extremely accessible - they are explained in a few minutes, the illustrations are very beautiful, full of life and emotions, and the mechanics are simple and interesting at the same time. Diskit is an infrequent case in the world of board games, about which we can confidently say that it suits absolutely everyone! It is a well-known fact - board games are great to reveal the essence of people, but few who do it the same way as this game. Try to play with loved ones whom you have known for many years and think that you know everything about them - Dixit will reveal them to you from a new unknown side.
