Each whip-firecracker is painted with Khokhloma or Gorodets painting by the hands of professional artists. It consists of two wooden plates, fastened at the base with a strong polymer cord. On the sides of the plates there are small handles for which the instrument is held when the boards hit each other. The sound of a whip cracker is similar to the clicking of a whip: sharp and loud.
