CJSC "Vyatka Souvenir" leads its history from July 1930, in the town of Nolinsk, Vyatka province, an artel named "Freedom" was created. The main products of the artel were various wooden products required in the household, children's toys on a lathe basis. The traditional range has expanded. In 1958 it was reported that the Liberty artel supplies one thousand dolls to the Brussels exhibition. Then the first meeting of foreign companies with Nolin matryoshka took place. Until 1960, only two types of matryoshkas were produced: 4 and 5 subject classes. With the creation of the Kirov Production Association "Vyatka" for the production of toys in 1964, the Liberty Artel was reorganized into the Nolinsky Souvenir Factory. The assortment is considerably expanded. At a meeting of the artistic and technical commission of February 7, 1964, the main artist VN was developed. Nikonov "Matryoshka-pear". On January 30, 1965, seven matryoshkas, decorated with oil paints, are approved. In April 1978, the Artistic Board of Decorative and Applied Arts attached to the Kirov Oblast Executive Committee approves the list of Nolin matryoshka articles, including inlaid straws.

In 1968, the technology of decorating dolls with aniline dyes was mastered. The use of aniline dyes allowed to have a short technological cycle in finishing, labor productivity has significantly increased. Matryoshka-toy became an interesting souvenir by the product of arts and crafts.

The enterprise pays much attention to the development and improvement of folk-art crafts, the improvement of quality, the aesthetic level of souvenirs.
