Kizhi Museum Reserve is one of the largest open-air museums in Russia. It is located on the islands of the Zaonezhsky archipelago of Lake Onega. Kizhi is a unique historical, cultural and natural complex, which is a particularly valuable object of the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia. The basis of the museum collection is the ensemble of the Kizhi pogost - the Church of the Transfiguration, the beginning of the XVII century - a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.
