"Sheksninskaya zolochanka" is one of the traditional murals of the Russian North. She decorated the peasant household items and was distributed in a small area - in the southern part of the Sheksna district of the Vologda region. Local residents called the painting "gilded". This name was included in the scientific circulation of the newly opened center of folk paintings. The origins of painting originate deep into the centuries, to the rich culture of ancient Russian art. The painting is graphic, its color scheme is based on a combination of red, gold and black traditional for the Old Russian icon painting.
