Description
A box with a picture of a plot from the work of Alexander Pushkin "The Tale of Tsar Saltan".
The body of the box is folded by hand from pressed cardboard boiled in linseed oil, which has a hardness comparable to that of wood. The ornamental material of papier-mâché was especially popular among the artisans of ancient China.
The painting was made using tempera paints prepared on the basis of natural pigments and emulsions in several stages. Palekh painting is three-layer and has its own secrets, passed down by the artists of the village from generation to generation.
