In May 1920, at a meeting of the Gubshchetina Collegium in connection with the expansion of production, the question of the duties and salaries of instructors was discussed, it was noted that “the instructor must show special skill and use special labor, directing all the work of the blind, strictly monitoring its implementation. The instructor, who is a special specialist, is assigned a salary in the amount of 6,000 rubles. "

The brush shop is also listed in the registration records as paying insurance premiums for 1924.

Since 1923, with the emergence of the Nizhny Novgorod Provincial Invalid Cooperation - Nizhgiko - in the registration records there are no longer workshops, but artels.

In 1939 the Artel "Brush" was named after the famous writer Nikolai Ostrovsky.

During the Great Patriotic War, due to special orders, the production program of the artel was increased, two leading workshops - a brush and a carpentry workshop - were working intensively.

The collective of the artel was repeatedly awarded the challenge Red Banner of the Gorkoopinsoyuz and the District Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks

Amateur performances, a choir and orchestra were organized.

On the territory of the factory, a monument to Nikolai Ostrovsky was erected, the author and performer of which was an employee of the paint shop, artist Pavel Borisovich Zimin.

By the decision of the State Association of Light Industry of the RSFSR dated August 14, 1990, the Gorky Brush Factory named after V.I. N. Ostrovsky is transferred to the All-Russian Society of Disabled People.

In 1991 the factory was renamed into the Nizhny Novgorod brush-brush training and production enterprise.

In the period from 1996 to 2002, the company developed significantly, and the volume of production exceeded 4,000,000 pieces per year. The company began exporting to the United States in the largest trade network for the sale of professional tools Harbor Freight Tools.

In the period from 2004 to 2016, the brush-brush enterprise withdrew from the All-Russian Society of Disabled People.

In January 2018, due to the change of ownership, the enterprise was returned to its historical name - LLC Nizhegorodskaya brush-brush factory (abbreviated name of LLC Nikische, INN 5262222948, OGRN 108526000890).

It is planned to replace some of the outdated equipment and increase production volumes: by 2021, to produce at least 10-12 million items per year.
