Literarische Übersetzung

literary translation is an art, so the translator must have the gift of the writer – a flair for words and a foreign language. Such translation should not be literal transmission of the text.

Literary translator should feel each word, to perceive the meaning of each word and associate this value in context. Not just any translation company can offer high-quality literary translation. Literary translator has to literally rewrite the text in a cultural context with unique traditions relative to the target language. A literal translation can never fully reflect the depth of the original; thus, a literary translator should have a rich life experience and imagination in addition to knowledge of a foreign language and a large vocabulary to represent the target text in literary style.

Literary translators are often faced with puzzles in the choice between free and literal translation literature; therefore, there are often multiple translations of the same text.
