Back in 1993, after political and economic transformations in Bulgaria, many sectors of our economy were able to easily cope with the principles of a free market economy and quickly adapt to new realities, and also began to fall apart and lose their existing assets and relations, especially with foreign partners.

Agriculture was no different, especially with the then workers' cooperatives, which began to move from union structures to independent farming.

This change, of course, brought tons of uncertainty and loss of stability that affected all aspects of the Bulgarian economy, and even the sectors that Bulgaria acts as a synonym - namely, the production of rose oil.

It was then that Mr. Nedelcho Belichev began to lay the foundation of NatureBase as an independent, family-owned company that is trying to maintain the centuries-old tradition of growing the Bulgarian rose of Damaskin and the world-wide production of the famous Bulgarian rose oil.

NatureBase is a pioneer in distillation automation, in which we carefully control the distillation process, so we preserve the most unique aromas and biologically active compounds of each flower and medicinal herb.

We also carefully study climate change and its effects on agriculture, so we can take precautionary measures and regulate cultivation, harvesting and production.

One such example is how we manage to keep plants fresh during a drought, so they keep valuable components in the flower. And last but not least, in addition to distillation, we are focused on expanding our production capacities through the use of other green technologies that will allow us to extract specific bioactive components that distillation cannot achieve.
