The International Investment Bank is a multilateral development institution whose activities are aimed at promoting social and economic development, increasing the well-being of the population and economic cooperation of member countries.
The main activities are support of small and medium-sized businesses in the member countries and participation in financing socially significant infrastructure projects.
The Bank lends primarily to leading national financial institutions with state participation, development banks and export-import banks and agencies, or in partnership with other international development institutions.
The Bank is established and operates on the basis of the intergovernmental Agreement on the formation of the International Investment Bank and the Charter. The agreement was signed by the member countries of the Bank on July 10, 1970 and registered with the Secretariat of the United Nations under number 11417.
The supreme management body is the Council of the Bank, consisting of representatives of the IIB member countries. The executive body of the Bank is the Board, the composition of which is appointed by the Council. The audit of the Bank's activities is carried out by the Audit Commission appointed by the Council from representatives of the IIB member countries.
The Bank is an international interstate organization, which provides for tax-free status, a special regime for banking regulation, as well as support for the state bodies of member countries.
Members of the Bank are the Republic of Bulgaria, Hungary, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Republic of Cuba, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, Romania, the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic.
The head office of the Bank is located in Moscow. In April 2015, IIB opened its first European regional office in Bratislava, Slovakia.
The international rating agency Moody's assigned Long-term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at Baa1, to the International Investment Bank, a positive outlook. The international rating agency Fitch Ratings has assigned IIB a long-term IDR at 'BBB' and a short-term IDR of 'F2', the forecast is 'stable'. The Chinese rating agency Dagong assigned IIB a long-term IDR "A", a forecast "stable". International rating agency S & amp; P assigned Long-term IDR at 'BBB' and Short-term IDR 'A-2' to IIB. The ratings obtained allowed the Bank to successfully enter the debt capital markets. At the moment, IIB issued bonds in Russia and Slovakia, Romania.
The Bank's own funds amount to 374 million euros, paid-up capital as of 09.03.2016 - 313 million euros. In accordance with the decision of the Bank's Board of 06.06.2013, the paid-up capital will be increased to 341.3 million euros.
